Hi, I'm Christophe Lamy
I’m a builder and a humanist living in San Francisco. I previously built some businesses at the intersection of technology and real world atoms.
In 2023 I started teaching myself to code and in 2024 I chose to embark on an odyssey of creation. This website is a collection of my projects and musings during this phase of exploration and play.
A brief guide to this site
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This site is primarly intended for me, but I’m really glad you’re here. I hope you will enjoy the space which I cultivate and, if something here makes you pause and think, well then I’m delighted.
Dailies are intended to be outlets for myself. I use Dailies to get an idea that’s been on my mind down on paper and think through it. I intend my Dailies to be written in one sitting. You will find typos, dangling thought fragments and some posts are even interrupted mid-thought. My jumpy and erratic manner of thinking, as well as writing, can show you. I sometimes revisit these and might fix obvious mistakes but Dailies are not intended to be polished. I’m more likely to go back and rewrite a post as a v2 than substantially edit it.
Thoughts are essays intended to convey a fully formed idea. Like Dailies they serve as a playground for me to explore and think through a topic but Thoughts are intended to be thorough and fully formed. To that end Thoughts are wordsmithed and crafted, sometimes for weeks following their initial publication, both in form as well as occasionally in their substance.
Stuff are retros on projects that I’ve built. This is my “show and tell” section. I haven’t made many Stuff posts to date due to the daunting task of collating, organizing, and conveying a “what, how, and learnings” fit for an external audience. That may change in the future.
If you’re lost and looking for a place to start, A Year of Creation is a great jumping off point to this site and also to me.
